A Leather travel surgical kit lined with red velvet and housing a set of 21 surgical implements by Joseph-Frédéric-Benoît Charrière (March 19, 1803 – April 28, 1876). Most of the instruments are marked Charriere and 9 of the instruments have tortoiseshell handles. The case is also marked CHARRIERE. Circa 1820-1876. Joseph-Frédéric-Benoît Charrière was a Swiss-born French manufacturer of surgical instruments.
Condition: Wear consistent with age and use. There is a small piece of leather missing as can be seen in the photos.
