A George IV vinaigrette of rectangular form with engine-turned decoration, the hinged lid with a central cartouche engraved with ‘J. Kyle/1842’. The gilt interior houses a pierced scrolling foliate-hinged grille. Under the grille is a piece of sponge that was soaked in liquid to repel the bad smells. Circa 1827
